It's good to see the blue of the sky and mountains as I wake up and glance out.

Slept with the window open to get a breeze- so I can hear the lawn mower going, dad's at it already. The smell of fresh cut grass comes right in through the window.

Barefooted, I head to the kitchen. The sun shines right through the tall windows and warms the tile beneath my feet.

The coffee is hot and taste even better out of my special mug.

Outside on the deck, I am greeted by my beautiful mom who's been baking in the sun already this morning , at 7:30am.

There's only sunshine and us today. The rest can wait until Monday. And the only thing on the agenda is the pool, drinks and dinner.

The pool is cool and the sun is warm. I tilt my head back while floating and remember time is precious and how important the little things are.

Laughter is shared amongst all of us.

Looking out across the harvested fields and out to the horizon, we can see dark and stormy clouds blowing in gently from the east. How exciting!

Sunkissed and a little drunk, we gather around the table and get ready to watch the storm.

There is not a part of the sky that is growling and glowing. The mountain is silhouetted by bright flashes of lightning.

Fear has no place in this house in this moment.

And just like the day, it's over too soon so I crawl into the down-ready to sleep.

Tomorrow is a new day and I can't wait until we get to do it all over again...

It's so good to be home.
